The members of WEARC show their passion for ham radio and all things related through our mentoring program. Informally known as an “Elmer” in ham slang, this is an individual who will assist a new operator in learning the tricks of the trade. WEARC maintains a robust mentoring program in which new and upcoming ham radio operators are paired with the more experienced individual. They will work with the new ham on initial license preparation, upgrading their license, antenna selection and essential ham radio station purchases. The goal is to inculcate new members in the joy of ham radio as well as grow new ranks of competent and enthusiastic ham radio operators.
